Ludicra review

My review of the new Ludicra album is now up at Stylus. It's awesome, hands down one of my favorites of the year. I usually listen to music in headphones before I go to sleep; this album is one of the few I'm afraid to hear before bedtime. Not even the new Blut Aus Nord, which is pretty damn scary, affects me as much.

I love this record too. I like how you described SF in your review, I recently moved after living there for 7 years and you captured what it feels like. I think Ludicra is also greatly influenced by the bleakness of Oakland, which is where at least some of the band lives.

I was fortunate enough to see them play live several times when I lived there and they were amazing. Hearing and watching the two women in the band scream is really something.

"The bleakness of Oakland" is almost a redundant phrase. Thanks for the nice words - it means much coming from a fellow former Bay Area vegetarian cat lover. I myself am partial to the Morningstar Farms "sausage" links, although people seem to prefer the patties.
