Michael Angelo Batio - Utter Ridiculousness
Now, I have seen some guitar shredding in my life. I've been to a Necrophagist show. I've seen Trey Azagthoth play live, up close. I've owned Steve Vai's Alien Love Secrets video. I grew up when Guitar One magazine was called Guitar for the Practicing Musician.
But nothing - and I mean nothing - comes close to the sheer fucking fury that is Michael Angelo Batio. Never mind that he is essentially a computer with a pick and bad hair, or that he is the most soulless guitarist I have ever heard. What matters is his absolutely absurd double guitar, with which he creates the sonic equivalent of masturbating twice at the same time. This is (two) hands down the most ridiculous guitar playing I have ever seen.

Yeah, this guys is pretty much as bad as it gets. Living proof of the maxim: Just cause it CAN be done, doesn't mean it SHOULD be done.
He had a FOUR necked guitar as well. Looks like a big x (i'm sure you can picture what I'm describing). Used it on some Nitro records. Then it got stolen. Worth googling for the ridiculous of the fucking thing alone.
Since Nitro is dead, he should start a new band called GUITARDED.

The song itself, if one could possibly appraise it sans-video is interesting enough, for instrumental neoclassical shred. I don't hear your issue with him being soulless. I could point you at some guitarists with just one guitar neck, if you want...
Utterly ridiculous. Listening to Heavy Metal comes with a tolerance for excess.
I'll go ahead and say I found this song much more interesting to listen to than most of Dream Theater's discography. I never thought I'd have to defend Michael Angelo Batio, but I think you're being unfair :P
haha okay no wait, when he quotes smoke on the water and crazy train in succession it starts getting gimmicky
When you two idiots can play half as well as Michael Angelo can, THEN you can start smack talking. Until then stick to what you know... One of you mentioned masterbation....
