Mortal Decay - Cadaver Art
Recently, the album I've listened to the most has been Mortal Decay's Cadaver Art (Unique Leader, 2005). It's near-perfect death metal, balancing brutality with melody, technicality with headbang-ability, and blasting with slower, almost jazzy grooves - the drumming is incredible! Frequent stacked fifths recall Death, and the vocals nicely mix midrange rasps and low growls. The production is crisp, and Par Olofsson (who did the cover for Odious Mortem's Cryptic Implosion) contributes vivid artwork. The Ravenous AddictedCadaverous Sculptures Part 1 - Preparing for Display

An excellent album, didn't really like their full-length prior to this one, though.
I don't have this record but I saw these guys live years and years ago and was really impressed at the time. I bought whatever full-length they were touring on at that point (my memory blows) and enjoy it more than these tracks, but as far as that gurgly-vocalled brutal death metal goes these dudes are certainly better than average.
