Speaking of Chicago, war metal battle masters Lair of the Minotaur have a new record out called, natch, War Metal Battle Master. You can see the video for the title track here (NSFW, contains graphic violence and nudity). It is all kinds of awesome. The first half is like if Evil Dead-era Sam Raimi directed Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The second half is like if Russ Meyer directed a Cannibal Corpse video. I can only imagine what the call for actors looked like.

Oh wow. Completely nuts. I have to agree on the album though. It's got some staying power with me their other stuff didn't.
that movie plays like complete shit on my computer. i'm going to have to find it on youtube because the player on that site stinks.
for me, the standout track on the new album is "Assassins Of The Cursed Mist". they show the restraint of a top tier metal act. that song slays.
I love the new album, but there's a part of me that likes their last one, The Ultimate Destroyer, even more. Gotta listen to each about 5000 more times to figure out which one comes out on top, I guess...see ya later!
The song was OK. The video was completely over the top. It rocked.
I'm more or less in love with the new Lair of the Minotaur album. Part of it is the songwriting, which is stronger than their last couple albums (I did love Ultimate Destroyer). And while I don't count myself among the Herweg-bashing masses, I do think the new drummer kicks up the rhythmic punch of LOTM tenfold.
Lair of the Minotaur might just be the most awesome band I've ever heard. Holy shit! Thanks Cosmo for turning me on to this.
